At Safari Kid, we believe childhood should be celebrated! Our proprietary preschool curriculum takes inspiration from a mix of both traditional methods (Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf) and reflects current brain research on early childhood development. This has resulted in a focus on the whole child, in which we offer the perfect balance of learning and play. Our daycare and preschool programs are carefully developed to ignite curiosity and encourage lifelong learning, but it doesn’t end there! We also offer a well-rounded after-school program for children in kindergarten through 8th grade, which provides a combination of valuable academic support and engaging extra-curricular enrichment.

Our Programs

At Safari Kid, our proprietorial preschool curriculum and research-based teaching methods will help your child meet developmental milestones, prepare for kindergarten, and, most importantly, foster a love of learning. By harnessing the benefits of both play and hands-on learning, our preschool programs represent a balance of learning domains—including investigative STREAM explorations, yoga and mindfulness, music and movement, conversational foreign language acquisition, art, story explorations, and so much more. Our enriching and engaging curriculum allows children to learn through purposeful, planned learning, which feels like play and encourages healthy interaction with other children.

After a tough day at work, Safari Kid parents feel comforted knowing their child has not only successfully completed their homework but also enjoyed learning something new! Safari Kid offers a comprehensive After School Program. We offer structured learning and tutoring coupled with a diverse choice of extracurricular activities. Our Safari Kid After School Program offers daily help with schoolwork but also provides supplemental mathematics and English Language Arts lessons that align directly with Common Core Standards. While academic learning is our primary goal, we also ignite interest beyond the core subjects through exciting enrichment activities that promote a love for new learning. Depending on demand, centers offer such enrichment classes as creative writing, public speaking, chess, robotics, visual arts, and performing arts. Students participating in Safari Kid’s After School Program consistently test above grade level, and many earn awards for academic achievement. We’re so proud of our Safari Kids and excited to be a part of their amazing growth!

Sandhya Menon | Safari Kid Menlo Park, CA

Sandhya Menon: Owner

Education: Masters in Cost Accounting. Site Supervisor units in ECE.

Experience : 7+ years working with young children.

Coming from a corporate background, the way the connections in a child’s brain work has always amazed me, which I only realised when I was introduced to the Early Childhood development program. It was a complete eye opener for me to see the difference in a child’s development, in a nurturing and learning environment and I feel proud to be part of their journey..
I truly believe that teachers have the power to mold a child’s life in the right direction and guide them in being a confident individual. For this reason, I am proud to work in Safari Kid classrooms and daycare environments where I can help children take their first steps into finding their potential.

Beverly Coluzzi

Education: I have an AA degree in Early Childhood Education.

Experience: I am a devoted and passionate preschool teacher with 25 years of teaching experience.

I am dedicated to making an individual connection with each child to promote a love of learning. I am enthusiastic, hard working, nurturing, and offer an energetic approach to teaching.
I am skilled with patience, creativity and empathy.

Our daughter attended Safari Kid for almost a year and a half (ages 3 -4.5) and we’re really really happy with the decision to send her there.

Curriculum: It’s a very balanced play based, Montessori-like curriculum. I love the focus on art, science, and free play. Our daughter has thrived in this school. She has picked up excellent social and listening skills, loves to explore new activities and has overall exceeded our expectations on the academics front.

Teachers: The school has 3 full time teachers who are all very experienced and extremely loving. They always welcome my daughter with excitement every morning and send her off at the end of the day with just as much love.

The space: this was a huge +1 for me. The classroom is spacious, bright, and very clean and they have a really nice outdoor space where the kids spend a majority of their day.

My daughter attended Safari Kid Menlo Park at the age of two years old. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time there and blossomed over the three years being at the school. She gained many learning abilities and skills whilst there. Her social skills have grown and she has made some wonderful friends.

The school is managed by Sandhya, who is very approachable and welcoming. Her school is clean, with a nice spacious layout including a lovely playground and sandpit area. When we first came to the school we were introduced to the STEM program, weekly music classes and a syllabus telling us what the children would be learning in the upcoming weeks.

The Covid pandemic had a huge impact on all schools, however Safari Kid handled the situation beautifully by introducing engaging and fun virtual lessons and supplied us with art supplies, worksheets, etc at the start of the week. My daughter very much enjoyed these classes and seeing her friends and teachers remotely.

We are super happy with this school, and the attention and personal care of the team here. Having heard great things about this place, we decided to take our 2 year-old here even though she would be the youngest after having recently become Safari Kid under a new lead teacher. They have retained some fantastic teachers from the previous naming, and also acquired a great energetic lead teacher. All the teachers here genuinely care about the kids, and they love their job, and it shows. Our daughter acquired new skills and better control and discipline in just the first 2 weeks. They are doing a good mix of building skills on regular activities as well as doing new things to keep things exciting and challenging for the kids. There is also a very healthy balance of mingling with older kids a few times during the day, which we observe is beneficial for our child. In our second month, but so far, nothing less than great.

We have had amazing experience with safari kid.. specially with online classes. It’s hard for a preschooler to sit infront of the screen for long duration but teachers at safari kid know how to keep them engaged and interested throughout the class by changing activities every 15 minutes. My child attended its online 4-5’s class and we loved Teacher Bev. Every day they have different activities like art and craft, drawing, yoga, singing, reading cvc words, along with that they also introduce American Sign Language and Spanish with fun songs and games. Every week they have a theme where they can bring things related to that and talk about it which improves their conversation skills. I would definitely recommend safari kid.
