Welcome to Safari Kid!
At Safari Kid, we believe childhood should be celebrated! Our proprietary preschool curriculum takes inspiration from a mix of both traditional methods (Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf) and reflects current brain research on early childhood development. This has resulted in a focus on the whole child, in which we offer the perfect balance of learning and play. Our daycare and preschool programs are carefully developed to ignite curiosity and encourage lifelong learning, but it doesn’t end there! We also offer a well-rounded after-school program for children in kindergarten through 8th grade, which provides a combination of valuable academic support and engaging extra-curricular enrichment.

Our Programs
At Safari Kid, our proprietorial preschool curriculum and research-based teaching methods will help your child meet developmental milestones, prepare for kindergarten, and, most importantly, foster a love of learning. By harnessing the benefits of both play and hands-on learning, our preschool programs represent a balance of learning domains—including investigative STREAM explorations, yoga and mindfulness, music and movement, conversational foreign language acquisition, art, story explorations, and so much more. Our enriching and engaging curriculum allows children to learn through purposeful, planned learning, which feels like play and encourages healthy interaction with other children.
We know leaving your infant in someone else’s care can be difficult. Our goal at Safari Kid is to make you feel confident, knowing that your infant is receiving high-quality and secure loving care in a sensory-rich and engaging environment. In the first few years of life, more than a million new neural connections are formed every second. We ensure our nurturing teachers are trained to interact and respond to your infant with purpose and intent. Our approach helps positively support proper brain development. They will engage with other bambinos through simple sensory explorations, books, songs, moving & grooving to music, and organic, safe toy play. Through these playful interactions, our bambinos learn and grow—developing motor skills, emergent language skills, self-awareness, and much more.
Our Toddler Class creates a smooth transition between home and school. Our teachers consistently communicate with parents regarding their child’s experiences by providing a detailed daily report for each child. It includes the basics such as your child’s eating, diapering, and sleeping schedule, along with informative details regarding participation in enjoyable activities for the day. Our engaging curriculum provides exciting learning opportunities that nurture cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and creative development.
Our comprehensive Preschool Level curriculum focuses on providing a solid educational foundation for our young students. We keep our class sizes small in order to promote individualized care and education. Our engaging and enriching curriculum provides unique opportunities and materials for challenging “hands-on” learning and gratifying investigative exploration. Students spend fun-filled days in safe, state-of-the-art classrooms and playgrounds participating in activities that stimulate curiosity and ignite imagination!
Children prepare for kindergarten and engage in exploration and discovery in our Pre-Kindergarten Level Program. Our enriching and engaging curriculum allows children to learn through purposeful, planned learning and from interactions with other children. These experiences improve children’s confidence, promote perseverance, and strengthen children’s executive function skills, which help them accomplish their goals towards kindergarten preparedness.

I am elated to be a part of Safari Kid. Although a California native, I love and enjoy the beautiful Pacific Northwest. After my husband’s dedicated service in the Marines, we set our roots in Oregon. My educational background lies in Early Childhood Education and Clinical Psychology. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working extensively with diverse developmental needs, including exceptional and developmental disabilities.
Before joining Safari Kid, I held the role of lead clinician in behavioral health, where I focused on parent training, curriculum planning, and developmental assessments. While I anchor my approach in evidence-based practices, I am equally committed to cultivating warm and compassionate relationships. I’m eagerly anticipating the opportunity to meet and work with all of you!

I’m a proud Portland, Oregon native, and I come from a family of seven. My journey in Early Childhood Education began in 2008 when my daughter was three years old. It was then that I discovered my passion for working with children and witnessing their growth. I’m a mother of two beautiful kids, aged 10 and 17. Outside of work, I cherish moments spent with my family.
I’m excited about the opportunity to teach and contribute to the growth of your child!
Ms. Maggie

I’m a native of Portland, Oregon, I have over 7 years of experience as an educator. Prior to joining Safari Kid, I also served as an assistant director. My passion for working with children has been a lifelong calling, and I’ve harbored a love for teaching for as long as I can remember.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, I’ve been dedicated to learning American Sign Language for the past 4 years, given my own experience of being hard of hearing. Beyond teaching, I bring a musical background, playing the piano, guitar, ukulele, and indulging in my love for singing. I strongly believe that incorporating these skills into the classroom provides children with valuable opportunities for expression and creativity.
My goal is to cultivate a positive, loving, and inclusive environment where every child feels heard, seen, respected, safe, and understood. It would be an honor and a privilege to play a role in your child’s lifelong learning journey.
Ms. Meena
Curriculum Coordinator/Teacher
My dual passion lies in the realms of early childhood education and art. Over the past few years, my focus has been on delivering online art classes tailored for children aged 4 to 14. Alongside this, I’ve proudly been a part of the Safari Kid team for over 2 years. Beyond my direct engagement with kids, I am equally enthusiastic about supporting fellow educators in crafting effective curricula.
My primary aim is to provide high-quality activities that genuinely captivate and inspire children. In my role as a Tembo Tots teacher, I am dedicated to creating a dynamic learning environment. Beyond the classroom, I assume the role of a curriculum coordinator, ensuring the effective implementation of our educational programs by the staff.
Looking forward to fostering a love for learning and creativity!
